We would like to take the opportunity of briefly introducing Heartwood Tales – a proudly South African early childhood EQ program created to make emotional intelligence an engaging and everyday part of the classroom.
At the heart of this program are 6 powerful storybooks, brought to life by lovable animal characters and supported by simple, meaningful reflection activities. Free Book Reading and Pop-Up Display: This is a great initiative when planning Book or Literacy Week, in fact it can be any time, as we realise that reading is something that should be encouraged any time of the year. A FREE Book Reading will give your learners a chance to meet Fenn and his Forest Friends, and our author to connect with your educators and parents to share more about the Heartwood Tales EQ Program. A Pop-Up book display during pick-up time OR drop-off time would be the perfect opportunity.
2. Heart & Pages: An Emotional Intelligence Journey: A combination of “Time to Read” ventriloquist puppet show with a book reading and display for educators and parents to share more about the Heartwood Tales EQ Program. A great idea for Book Week.
3. Practical EQ Skills Workshops: Every day, teachers hold the worries, hopes, tears, and triumphs of the children in their care. And yet, teachers rarely get the space to refill their own emotional cups, this workshop exists to change that. You could also facilitate a workshop at your school.
4. Parent evenings: How much do your parents know about EQ (Emotional Intelligence)?
Parent evenings are a powerful opportunity to support families beyond academics. We would love to offer a short, engaging talk for parents focused on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and its vital role in children’s learning, behaviour, and well-being.
